Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales meets volunteers at Buckley Food Bank

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, recently took the opportunity to visit Buckley Food Bank. Buckley Food Bank is part of the Flintshire Foodbank network, established by the Trussell Trust.

Buckley Food Bank is run by volunteers at the Buckley Cross Methodist Community Centre.  Alongside the Food Bank the Methodist Community Centre hosts a Warm Hub with free tea, coffee, biscuits and toast (open between 1-3pm), drop-in visits from Citizens Advice, the Wallich, Mind and Flintshire County Council’s Welfare Team.  There is also a selection of donated books and clothes available free to anyone who may need them.

After meeting with the volunteers running the Food Bank, Sam Rowlands MS said: “The volunteer team at Buckley Cross do some fantastic work, supporting people at a time of crisis.

“By partnering with groups like Mind, The Wallich and Citizens Advice they’re helping people to tackle the root causes of crisis, from mental health to housing.”

If you’re able to support the food bank through either donations or volunteering, then contact Flintshire Foodbank on 01352 757235 or [email protected].

Their most wanted list includes tinned meat, fruit and vegetables, ready meals and toiletries.
