Last chance to experience all new theatre performance from Frân Wen

TICKETS are selling fast for Olion, the latest production from Frân Wen, which premieres in Bangor on the 20th of September. A trilogy which combines live theatre, site-specific performances, and film, the production is a first for the theatre company as it explores themes of exclusion and belonging.

Inspired by the Mabinogi myth of Arianrhod, the show begins with a dynamic theatre performance staged at Pontio’s Bryn Terfel Theatre, with a professional cast, blending dance, theatre, and music. Following this, Yr Isfyd (The Underworld) offers a site-specific performance across multiple locations across Bangor. including a free community festival with live music and activities. The trilogy concludes with ‘Y Fam’ (The Mother) – a short film which goes deeper into the mythological world of Olion.

Gethin Evans, Artistic Director at Frân Wen, commented: “I would encourage people to jump at this opportunity to be part of our innovative Olion production.

“This is the first time we’ve experimented with a trilogy format and a combination of multi-site, live, and digital performances. We’re really looking forward to bringing together such a talented creative team and to stage part of the production at Ponio.

“To add to the excitement the show is part of our 40th anniversary celebration – so a real one off. We have limited tickets left –this is the final chance to experience Olion and to be part of the Fran Wen story too.”

The production has received support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and is a joint project with local youth charity, Gisda which works with excluded and vulnerable young adults.

Tickets are available on the Pontio website and further information at Fran Wen.
