Lorry driver arrested after man found dead on A55

A LORRY driver has been arrested following the discovery of a man’s body near a stretch of dual carriageway in north Wales.

Emergency services were called to the A55 near Kinmel Park Services in Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire, at 8:14am on Tuesday (Apr 15).

North Wales Police confirmed that the body of a 35-year-old man was found at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

A 62-year-old HGV driver has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The westbound carriageway of the A55 was closed for several hours while police carried out investigations. It reopened at around 4:45pm.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage who may have seen the man walking on the carriageway between St Asaph and Abergele between 4:50am and 5:10am.
