Global sports supplier plans major expansion in Wrexham

Global sports equipment distributor Net World Sports plans to increase the manufacture of sports equipment in Wrexham by building a plastic processing unit next to its mammoth headquarters on Wrexham Industrial Estate.

A MAJOR sports equipment supplier is planning to expand its manufacturing operation in Wrexham.

Net World Sports has applied for permission to construct a new 1,250 square metre plastic process unit next to its huge global headquarters at Wrexham Industrial Estate.

If approved by Wrexham County Borough’s planning officers the unit, described as an ‘industrial facility’ will be used for the ‘fabrication of sports equipment’ and employ 10 people.

The move to bring manufacturing home to Wrexham is the latest significant investment in the area from the sports equipment wholesaler.

CEO Alex Lovén has built the company a worldwide presence distributing sports equipment across the world at all levels, from elite professional sports to grassroots.

Net World Sports operates a number of its own equipment brands – including popular ball and spots equipment brand Forza and has a series of high-profile partners including Wrexham AFC, Basketball Wales and the FAW.
 
The application will now go before Wrexham Borough Council  planning officers.
