SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Fflint Wrecsam has welcomed news of a new music festival for kids this August.
Mr Rowlands, Welsh Conservative spokesperson for Families, was commenting after hearing that a brand new Summer day long event was being planned for the city.
He said: “I am delighted to see a full day of activities and entertainment for children and families being held in Wrexham next month.
“As a parent we all know how difficult it is to keep our kids occupied during the long Summer holiday and Kidsfest is a fantastic way of keeping them entertained.
“It really sounds as if there will be plenty of different things happening in the city with lots of festival fun for all and definitely worth putting the date in your diary.”
Kidsfest is being brought to the city by Wrexham County Borough Council, in collaboration with Nightingale House Hospice, sponsored by Read Construction, and supports Wrecsam2029, Wrexham’s bid to become UK City of Culture 2029.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 1, from 12pm to 7pm on Llwyn Isaf, giving families a full day of music, creativity and play during the summer holidays.
Created as a music festival for children, Kidsfest will offer a vibrant day out in the heart of Wrexham. Visitors can look forward to live music, hands-on activities, delicious food and drink, crafts and more, with the full line-up and schedule to be announced soon. Donations to Nightingale House Hospice are encouraged to enter the event.
Play and playfulness are key themes in Wrexham’s bid for UK City of Culture 2029, and Kidsfest will help bring those ideas to life through music, creativity, family activity and shared experiences in the city centre.
Elise Jackson, Event, Campaigns and Community Fundraising Manager at Nightingale House Hospice, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be part of bringing Kidsfest to Wrexham.
“At Nightingale House Hospice, community is at the heart of everything we do, and this event is a wonderful opportunity to bring families together for a day of fun, creativity and music.
“We hope it not only creates special memories for children and their families but also helps raise awareness of the vital care and support we provide across the region.”
