Sam Rowlands MS supports new literary festival for North-East Wales

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, is backing Clwyd Crime a new event being held in Mold and Wrexham next month.

He said: “I am delighted to see North-East Wales hosting an exciting new literary festival attracting a wonderful line-up of several big name crime and detective authors.

“It is a fantastic opportunity to hear from crime writers such as Simon McCleave, well known for writing the best seller The Snowdonia Killings and many others who have written top selling crime books.

“It is a great way of meeting authors in person and fellow crime writing fans face to face and I really hope this new event will be well supported.”

Clwyd Crime runs from November 5-7 as part of a partnership between the Wrexham Carnival of Words, The Bookshop Mold, Gwella Libraries and Wrexham Library Service.

The new festival is being held in both Mold Library and Museum and Wrexham Library and promises to be a bonanza for fans of murder mysteries, crime and thriller novels. The programme will also include events in both English and Welsh.

The festival opens with bestselling crime fiction author Vaseem Khan who takes us on an exhilarating journey from the post-Independence complexities of India – and his Malabar House novels – to contemporary Britain’s MI6 and the exploits of James Bond and Q.

Taking part in a special event will be one of the UK’s most gripping crime writers, Simon McCleave, creator of the atmospheric Snowdonia Killings who will discuss his novels, the art of building tension, and what it takes to write a truly unforgettable detective.

Two Welsh language authors also appear at Clwyd Crime, Meleri Wyn James, whose  latest novel ‘Dim Ond Un’ sees a family meet for a celebration in a cottage on Bardsey Island and Sonia Edwards. who is one of Wales’ most popular Welsh language authors with thrilling mysteries that intertwine with compelling characters.
