THE WRECSAM2029 City of Culture Bid has announced an exclusive ‘Opportunities for Business’ event in partnership with Wrexham University. Local and regional businesses are encouraged to attend to explore and learn more about the bid, and the opportunities it presents for them.
The business-focused event, taking place on Tuesday, June 16, will provide local and regional enterprises with an overview of the UK City of Culture initiative, detailing what a successful bid means for Wrexham and the wider region. Attendees will discover how they can actively engage, benefit, and play a pivotal role as the bid progresses.
The session is designed for businesses of all sizes, in the local and regional communities, who want to better understand the potential cultural, economic and commercial impact of City of Culture, and how they can position themselves to take advantage of emerging opportunities.
Alongside a presentation, the event will feature a dedicated Q&A session and a great networking opportunity, allowing local organisations and stakeholders to connect and collaborate.
Amanda Evans, Director of the Wrexham City of Culture bid said: “This bid isn’t just about culture, it’s a massive economic catalyst for our region. Local businesses are the backbone of Wrexham, and this event is all about ensuring they have a front-row seat and a voice in shaping our City of Culture journey.”
Professor Joe Yates, Vice-Chancellor of Wrexham University said: “Wrexham’s UK City of Culture 2029 bid represents a significant opportunity to showcase the creativity, ambition and potential of our region. At Wrexham University, we recognise that strong business engagement will be central to the success of the bid, helping to ensure that the cultural, economic and commercial benefits are realised across our communities. By working in partnership, we can maximise the opportunities this initiative presents and support sustainable growth, innovation and prosperity for Wrexham and the wider region.”
