BRIDGEND-based housing association Valleys to Coast has revealed early stage plans to turn a town centre building into its new headquarters.
The proposals could see the group move from its current location on Tremains Road to Wyndham House in Bridgend town centre.
If approved, it could see the regeneration of the four-storey building to provide a mix of office space, a café-style reception space, eight one-bedroom apartments and a small number of commercial units.
Wyndham House is currently home to Bridgend’s local post office, where it is fronted by the town’s historic war memorial.
It is hoped the building will be transformed with the support of town regeneration grants and social housing grants.

Group chief executive of Valleys to Coast Jo Oak said: “This isn’t just a new office for us, it’s a space where colleagues, customers and the wider community can connect, collaborate, and feel proud of the town centre once again – this has come through strongly in the insight we have gathered so far, and has played part in our decision-making.
“The acquisition of Wyndham House plays a key role in our own ambitious growth plans, but also the county’s wider plans to regenerate the town.
“With community, sustainability and innovation at its heart, this project marks the next exciting step in our mission to help Bridgend and its people thrive.
“Within the next 18 months, we will have transformed the building, bringing over 300 of our colleagues right into the heart of Bridgend town centre and attracting additional footfall from our customers and visitors.”
Labour MP for Bridgend and Porthcawl, Chris Elmore added: “This really is fantastic news — not just for Valleys to Coast, but for the future of Bridgend town centre.
“Projects like this show exactly what’s possible when ambition and collaboration come together.
“The transformation of Wyndham House will boost footfall, create jobs, provide homes, and give local businesses new opportunities to thrive.
“Regeneration of our town centre won’t happen overnight, but such a project is real sign of progress, and it sends a strong signal of confidence for Bridgend’s potential.”
