RESIDENTS of Caerphilly are being asked for their input on the Caerphilly Town 2035 placemaking plan at Caerphilly Library this July.
The Caerphilly Town 2035 project is a bold and ambitious vision for the future of Caerphilly town centre, that seeks to transform the town into a diverse and thriving town centre.
Caerphilly Town 2035 is a partnership between Caerphilly County Borough Council and Welsh Government Transforming Towns initiative.
With two in-person sessions being held at the end of this month in Caerphilly Library, residents will be able to drop in and have their say on important issues like travel, traffic, and parking around Caerphilly town centre.
Information boards will be set up around the library, with opportunities to speak to the project team, give feedback on proposed ideas, and learn more about other projects under the Caerphilly Town 2035 umbrella – like the recently opened market Ffos Caerffili.

The two sessions will take place on Saturday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 30 from 10am.
During the first project update in Autumn 2023, residents of Caerphilly were introduced to these plans, which include the redevelopment of Pentrebane Street; the transport interchange; Caerphilly Cultural Centre (led by Cynefin Caerffili CIC); Ffos Caerffili; and a multi-million-pound project to transform Caerphilly Castle into a world-class heritage attraction.
Caerphilly Library is located at 2, The Twyn, Caerphilly, CF83 1JL. Please note, the library is closed between 1-2pm on Tuesday 30th July.
Cllr Jamie Pritchard, Deputy Leader of the Council said: “The public involvement in these sessions is incredibly important in the ongoing development of the Caerphilly Town 2035 project.
We were delighted to see over 350 Caerphilly residents provide in – person feedback at the previous public exhibition. Over 700 responses to our digital survey also means there is a lot of interest from residents.
We are looking forward to continuing these conversations which will shape the future of Caerphilly town centre, so please feel free to come along to contribute any thoughts.”
