A DEVELOPER has secured a five year extension for planning permission to build homes in Pontllanfraith.

Applicant Mr B Jones was first given permission to build three homes on the site, next to Tynyddfa Lodge, in Millbrook Road, in December 2018.

Initially granted five years to begin the development, Mr Jones applied to Caerphilly County Borough Council earlier in 2024 for more time.

An extension would give him “more time to get the development up and running”, the applicant said, according to council documents.

Caerphilly Council planners agreed to extend planning permission for another five years, subject to the same conditions originally agreed in 2018.

The original application laid out plans for three detached homes on an “empty patch of land” behind Millbrook Road, together with private gardens and a “courtyard” for car parking.
