A PONTYMISTER convenience store owner has applied to open a new takeaway on part of his premises.
If approved, an existing storage area at the Premier Pricedown Stores, on Meadow Crescent, could be converted into a separate fast food outlet.
The applicant is store owner Satnam Singh Dang, who said one full-time and two part-time jobs could be created at the new venture, if the plans go ahead.
Documents submitted to Caerphilly County Borough Council show the new entrance of the proposed takeaway would be fitted between the existing convenience store and a barber shop.
The plans do not show what type of fast food would be sold at the premises, but blueprints of the proposed layout include ovens and fryers, a wrapping and packing area, and a customer serving counter.
The site is currently marked out as storage areas and an office to the side of the convenience store.
The application is currently out for consultation, and can be viewed on the Caerphilly County Borough Council website under reference 25/0398/COU.
