Bristol man appears in court after teenager shot in Cardiff

A MAN from Bristol has appeared in court following the shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Cardiff earlier this month.

ASHLEY FERNANDO CORBIN, aged 20, appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody.

A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear in court later on Thursday (June 19). He faces charges of possessing a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The charges follow an incident on Friday, June 7, in Clos Y Ffynnon, Pontprennau, where a 15-year-old boy was shot.

The boy was taken to hospital and treated for injuries which police described as non-life-threatening.

South Wales Police said Corbin, of no fixed abode, was arrested in the Bristol area on Sunday, June 16.

The force added that four other individuals have also been arrested in connection with the incident, and investigations are ongoing.
