A 14-year-old dog is facing a second Christmas in the care of Dogs Trust Cardiff after being overlooked by potential adopters for the last 18 months. Staff at the charity are now hoping that someone will come forward to give her the Christmas present she really wants – a home to call her own.
Bichon Frise Cross Mitzi has become the longest-standing resident at Dogs Trust Cardiff’s rehoming centre, after arriving on 1st June 2022. As the festive season approaches, Mitzi is on a quest for her ‘furry tail’ ending and a forever home to spend her golden years.
Mitzi is currently in the care of Dogs Trust fosterers, and this sweet girl is seeking a quiet home where everyone is aged 14 years and above. A gentle soul, Mitzi would thrive in the company of another calm dog to match her pace. Housetrained and fond of short strolls, Mitzi is ready to become the affectionate companion in a loving home.
Mitzi is on a special diet and medication, and, like many seniors, she is beginning to lose her sight. However, Mitzi’s spirit remains strong, and she is eager to find a comfortable lap to curl up on and enjoy the warmth of a loving home.
Kim Davies, Deputy Manager for Dogs Trust Cardiff, says:

“Mitzi is an absolute delight to be around. She has a heart full of love and is patiently waiting for the right family to share her golden years with. As Christmas approaches, we are looking for a special family to adopt Mitzi and make her festive season truly special.
“Mitzi may be facing some challenges due to her age, but her resilience is inspiring. We are committed to finding her a home that understands her needs and can provide the care and attention she deserves.”
As the holiday season approaches, Dogs Trust Cardiff is asking the general public to open their hearts and give the gift of a loving home to this charming Bichon Frise Cross.
