INNOVATION Investment Capital Limited Partnership (IIC), backed by Cardiff Capital Region (CCR), has made an investment into Coaches’ Voice, a leading football-focused education platform for coaches, clubs and leagues, in a transaction advised by DSW Corporate Finance.
Co-founded in 2018 by David Sciama and Peter Kenyon, Coaches’ Voice supports more than 4,000 football organisations worldwide, delivering over one million learning hours each year. The platform provides industry-leading coaching resources, education programmes and technology solutions, helping coaches at all levels develop their skills and knowledge.
The investment will provide Coaches’ Voice with additional capital and strategic support to accelerate its growth plans, expand its offering and strengthen its position as a leading provider of football education and technology. This will support the business’ focus on widening access to coaching education and strengthening football at the community level, with Wales central to its future growth.
A key driver of Coaches’ Voice’s impact in Wales is its partnership with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) through Coach Cymru, which provides ongoing CPD support for FAW-qualified coaches.
DSW Corporate Finance provided transaction services on the deal, the team included Steve Holmes and Koo Aseeley.
David Sciama, Coaches’ Voice’s CEO, said: “As the world enjoys a summer of football, this investment allows us to expand our presence in South East Wales and support the grassroots coaches who underpin the game.
“Visibility at the top level always inspires participation, and with great coaching available, that is what sustains the interest in communities across Wales.
“With 4,500 coaches already active in Wales, we expect this figure to grow significantly over the next 18 months. It is through our close relationship with FAW that gives Coaches’ Voice a meaningful and growing role in the continued development of Welsh football.”
Koo Aseeley, Partner at DSW Corporate Finance, said: “Coaches’ Voice has built an impressive platform and earned a highly respected reputation across all levels of the football industry.
“The business has demonstrated strong growth and an ability to deliver genuine value to coaches, clubs and federations around the world.
“Our role was to support the transaction process and help secure investment that will enable the next stage of the company’s development.
“CCR is an excellent partner for ambitious businesses, and as a Cardiff-based team ourselves, we are particularly proud to have supported an investment that will contribute to the continued growth of both Coaches’ Voice and the wider South East Wales economy.
“We look forward to seeing Coaches’ Voice continue its impressive growth journey in the years ahead.”
