Sam Rowlands MS for North Wales supports Carers Trust Wales and Young Carers Action Day

SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, backs charity committed to improving support and services for unpaid carers.

Mr Rowlands, who often highlights his concern for unpaid carers in the Senedd recently joined colleagues in Cardiff at a Carers Trust Wales event to mark Young Carers Action Day 2025.

He said: “I was delighted to support the Trust and have the opportunity to hear from young carers from North Wales about their caring responsibilities firsthand.

“I fully support Carers Trust Wales who highlight and help these young people who are unpaid carers and step in to help and receive little or no support.

“It’s clear they deserve much better support, and I thank them for all the incredible work they do.”

Carers Trust Wales is part of Carers Trust, an ambitious national charity committed to improving support and services for unpaid carers.

It aims to shape a better future with and for carers in Wales by raising awareness, empowering carers and influencing change.

The charity works closely and collaboratively with Network Partners – local and regional independent charities which deliver information, advice and practical support for unpaid carers in Wales. Last year its Network Partners directly supported more than 28,000 carers in Wales.

In Wales there are at least 310,000 carers and 3 in 5 of us will become a carer at some point in our lives.
