A MERTHYR TYDFIL opticians has been recognised as one of Wales’ leading optical practices, winning Multiple Practice of the Year at the Optometry Wales Awards 2025.
The locally owned and run store, led by directors Brian Borland, Lee Jenkins and Richard Dyson, was celebrated for consistently delivering outstanding service, patient experience and innovation across its team.
The announcement coincides with the fifth anniversary of the store’s £900,000 relocation to larger premises, a move the directors say underlined their long-term commitment to providing high-quality local eye and ear care.
Retail director, Richard Dyson said: “We’re incredibly proud of our team for this achievement. Winning Multiple Practice of the Year is a fantastic recognition of everyone’s dedication, professionalism and commitment to our patients and community.
“Over the past five years in our new premises, we’ve been able to expand our services to include Glaucoma and Diabetic schemes allowing patients to be seen in their local community rather than hospitals and better support the people of Merthyr Tydfil.
“This award shows that the hard work of our whole team is making a real difference.“
The winners were announced at the Optometry Wales Awards ceremony in Cardiff on November 29.
