COUNCILLORS have given a second nod of approval to plans for two new homes in Allt-Yr-Yn.
Applicant Antony James won planning permission for the new properties at a committee meeting in July 2024.
But according to a council report, those proposals hit the buffers when officers prepared a legal agreement for the development site – which showed the applicant did not own all of the land.
The matter went back before Newport City Council’s planning committee on Wednesday November 5, with the boundary of the development site amended.
Case officer Adam Foote said the design of the proposed homes was “unchanged”.
The committee members voted unanimously to grant planning permission for the amended project, subject to conditions and a Section 106 agreement that the application will make a payment towards affordable housing in the city.
