A CLUBHOUSE extension to provide more changing rooms for a South Wales football club has been approved.

The application relating to Ivor Park Football Pitch in Cowbridge Road, Brynsadler, Pontyclun for a proposed extension of an existing club house and changing facility used by Pontyclun Football Club was given the go ahead by Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) Council’s planning committee on Thursday, April 16.

The planning report said the extension is intended to provide additional changing room facilities to cater for an increased number of participants within the football club and offer bespoke changing facilities for both female footballers and officials as well as provide a larger flexible use venue for the wider Pontyclun community.

No letters of objection or representation have been received in relation to the application.

In recommending approval, council planning officers said: “The proposal would provide an enhanced sporting and community facility within a sustainable location.

“Furthermore, the development would not be considered to impact upon the amenity and privacy of surrounding properties, nor would it have an adverse impact upon highway safety.”
