Home-Start Cymru thanks dedicated volunteer for 20 years of service in Rhondda Cynon Taff

AS THE WORLD celebrates Volunteers Week, Home-Start Cymru proudly honours the unwavering dedication and commitment of our remarkable volunteers who have played a pivotal role in transforming the lives of families across Wales for over 40 years.

This year, as we reflect on this milestone, we want to take a moment to extend our deepest gratitude to an exceptional individual who has been the backbone of our organisation. In RCT, Sue Jones has secured our Long Service Platinum Certificates for dedicating 20 years of their time and effort to support our cause, positively impacting countless families and leaving an indelible mark on our community.

Home Start Cymru’s volunteers have been the driving force behind our mission to empower, build resilience, and ensure that children from families across Wales receive the best start in life. From providing personalised one to one support directly within the homes of families, to offering a wide range of services that cater to their diverse needs, our volunteers have consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our cause.

Her 20 years of selfless service have been nothing short of extraordinary, and we are deeply grateful for the enduring impact she has had on families in RCT.

Sue was so happy to be recognised for the impact she has had on families throughout RCT. She said “Volunteering with families is a real privilege. Just spending a few hours, a week with them can make a big difference in the lives of both the children and their parents. I’ve learned so much from the different families I’ve met. I think other volunteers would agree that helping children now can make a lasting impact for the future. It’s very rewarding and a true honour to be part of this work.”

At Home Start Cymru, we believe that volunteering is not only a rewarding experience for individuals but also an essential pillar of support for local communities. By taking up volunteering, individuals have the opportunity to make meaningful connections, contribute positively to the lives of others, and inspire lasting change to families in their local areas.
