ACTION for Children’s Park House service has brought the community together in spectacular style with a vibrant Family Fun Day filled with laughter, colour, and connection. Held in the heart of Sandfields, the event welcomed families from across the area to enjoy a day packed with entertainment, delicious food, and engaging activities.
Highlights included dazzling face painting by Buzzy Bee Face Painting, energetic dancing, and interactive fun with Crazy Characters & Discos. Children and adults alike were thrilled to meet local heroes from South Wales Police and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, who offered hands-on experiences and safety demonstrations that added excitement and education to the day.

The event was made possible thanks to generous support from Nationwide UK, whose contribution helped Action for Children create a welcoming and inclusive celebration for families supported by the Park House service. Local councillors Matthew Crowley, Ted Latham, Sharon Freeguard and Charlotte Galsworthy also joined the festivities.
Park House provides short breaks for children and young people with disabilities, offering a safe, nurturing environment where they can enjoy new experiences, build independence, and have fun while families receive vital respite support.
Sarah Jenkins, Registered Manager at Park House, shared her delight saying: “It was a truly magical day for our families. Seeing the joy on the children’s faces and the community come together in such a positive way was heartwarming.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Nationwide UK for helping us make this happen—it’s a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together to support children and young people.”
