LEADING care provider, My Choice Healthcare, is celebrating its latest awards success after three Welsh regional winners at the Great British Care Awards were confirmed as finalists in November 2025 for the UK-wide Gala Event, taking place in February.
Doreen ‘Dottie’ Gilbert, clinical lead at Glycornel Nursing Home in Tonypandy, won the Social Care Nurse Award; Tracy Grubb, activity co-ordinator at The Mountains Nursing Home in Powys, won Best Activity Coordinator; and Claire Taylor, home manager at Springfield in Gilfach, Caerphilly Borough, won the Care Home Registered Manager Award.
A testament to the group’s commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, My Choice Healthcare was shortlisted in an impressive 11 categories at the Wales Regional Finals, as well as three categories at the West Midlands Finals, held late last year.
The Great British Care Awards Gala Finals will take place on February 27 at the ICC in Birmingham, where winners from each category and region across the UK will come together to celebrate excellence in the care industry.
Speaking about her success, Dottie said: “I’ve been at My Choice Healthcare for over three years now, and I love what I do.
“It’s a real honour to have won the Social Care Nurse Award for Wales, and I’m looking forward to the industry coming together to celebrate our success at the UK finals.”

“I’ve worked at The Mountains for nearly three years, and since the home was acquired by My Choice Healthcare last year it’s gone from strength to strength.
Claire said: “Having worked at Springfield for the last four and a half years, it’s a huge honour to be recognised at the Great British Care Awards. My work is extremely rewarding, and it’s a privilege to play a role in this special industry.”
