UFAC-UK expands team across South West and South Wales

New Area Business Manager appointed to support farmers and feed industry as demand grows for specialist livestock nutrition

UFAC-UK has announced the appointment of Philip Jones as its new Area Business Manager for South West England and South Wales, as demand continues to grow for specialist animal feed supplements aimed at improving livestock performance.

Philip brings with him a strong background in the agricultural sector, having previously worked on dairy farms in the South West and spent several years as an Animal Feed Specialist. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s continued growth in the region, while supporting key accounts including feed merchants, nutritionists, buying groups and farmers.

Speaking about his appointment, Philip said: “It’s an exciting time to be involved in livestock nutrition. As our understanding of the needs of modern farm animals evolves, so does the science of manufacturing specialist nutrition supplements to enhance their health and performance.

“As a company, UFAC UK have a global reputation for their investment in research and technology to manufacture, and supply, sustainable and precision nutrition products for livestock.”

He added that research into omega-3 nutrition and balancing fatty acid intake is becoming increasingly important across the industry.

“Research shows omega 3 nutrition and balancing fatty acid intakes for all animals is the route to healthy animals and to maximise performance, and this is what UFAC excel in supplying to the industry,” he said. “Ensuring these are optimised in diets is key to maximising returns on investment and I look forward to working with the farming community to achieve this.”

Dr Andrew Pine, UFAC-UK’s Technical and Commercial Manager, said the company has experienced significant growth as farmers increasingly look for products that improve productivity while supporting sustainability goals.

“There has been a change in the approach to livestock nutrition in the UK and abroad, with farmers actively seeking specialist products that will maximise productivity and sustainability,” he said. “With this, UFAC UK has seen unprecedented growth, so are expanding our team to ensure we continue to provide first class service and support to our customers.

“Philip brings both practical and technical knowledge and experience which will be a real asset for our customers in the South West of England and South Wales.”
