LLANSAWEL RFC is searching for new players to bring a new lease of life to the long-established but struggling North Carmarthenshire club.
Formerly in the Welsh Rugby Unions’ National League Division 3 West C, Llansawel has just had to leave the league after playing just one game this season, because there are currently too few players to form a full team.
The club has an important place in the life of Llansawel and district, and members provide valuable custom for the village’s two pubs, the Black Lion and the Angel.
Chairman Emyr Roberts said they had put up posters and posted a call on Facebook to attract new players, but with limited success so far.
“The boys are still keen to play,” he said, “so although we are no longer in the league, we will be having some friendly games.”
Players interested in joining Llansawel RFC can contact Emyr on 07971 565375.
