Underpass plans revisited

Farmers must know wormers are effective: HCC.

A CARMARTHENSHIRE community council have begun to look back into plans for an underpass that would serve two sides of Pensarn. Llangunnor Community Council believe that new businesses built on both sides of the land have necessitated a revisit of the plans.
Since 2013, when the idea was first mooted, Marston’s Pub, KFC, Dominoes Pizza and Subway have all developed on the land. As a result, community councillors believe that the existing underpass to Morrisons is not sufficient and have called for one at the end of Stephens Way too, which they say will benefit shoppers to the area.
When the idea was initially raised in January 2013 by County Councillor Elwyn Williams, he called for the underpass to link the two developments on either side of the busy A48. However, community councillors have said that they do not have the funds themselves to construct the overpass and have proposed to raise the issue with Carmarthenshire County Council and the Welsh Government to assist with its funding.
