Cwmamman United’s cup form continues

FOLLOWING last week’s Welsh Cup victory, Cwmamman United travelled to Llanrumney to play Cardiff Cosmopolitan in the cup , but this time it was in the first round of the FAW Trophy.

Cwm who look in early good form were immediately on the attack against the South Wales Alliance league two side and after some early pressure Cam Isaac struck twice in 2 mins to give the visitors an  early two goal lead.

The home side did not capitulate though and Jack Martin leapt on a Cwm mistake to pull a goal back in the 37th min.  They were then awarded a penalty in the 39th min following an interesting decision by the referee but Thomas Phillips missed the opportunity to level when he fired wide.

With Cam Berry and Kieran Dawe controlling affairs Cwm increased the pressure further on the Cosmos defence and Berry slotted home in the 56th  to make it 3-1.

For Cwm Josh Howarth and Taylor Smith out wide were stretching the home defence and Dawe scored twice with goals in the 77th and 83rd mins.

Cwm kept launching attacks at the valiant home defence and substitute Ethan Morgan then made it six in the last minute to round off a powerful display by the Cwm side.

Cwmamman now go into the draw for the next round of the FAW Trophy as well as the Welsh Cup and will know their opponents for both cups when the draws are made on the  August 6-7.
