Firefighters rescue dog from embankment in Cynghordy

ON TUESDAY (September 23) at 10.07am, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crew from Llanwrtyd Fire Station was called to an incident in Cynghordy.

The crew responded after the Joint Fire Control Centre received a call with a report of a dog that was stuck on a steep embankment within Crychan Forest.

Crew members navigated rough terrain and dense woodland to successfully locate the dog, an English setter named Luca, and used a general-purpose line to rescue him from the embankment. Once safe, Luca was guided through the forestry by the crew to reunite him with his owner.

The crew left the scene at 1.38pm.
