WALES AND BRITISH & IRISH LIONS star Jac Morgan has paid an emotional tribute to his cousin and close friend, Harri Morgan, following his sudden death last week.
Harri, who served as vice-captain of Brynamman RFC’s first team, was remembered by his club as “immensely talented, and fiercely dedicated,” with his loss felt deeply across the local community.
Jac Morgan, who plays for Ospreys, shared heartfelt messages and photos on social media, including an image of the two together after a Wales international match. He also revealed that he dedicated his recent performance to his cousin during Ospreys’ victory over Sharks in the United Rugby Championship on April 18, in which he scored a try.
“This week I suddenly lost my cousin and best friend Harri,” he wrote. “He meant the world to us as a family.
“He loved so much about life, but his greatest joy was playing rugby for Brynamman.
“Yesterday I played my game in honour and memory of Harri. It felt important to go out there and make him proud, playing the game that he loved.”

Morgan also used his platform to encourage those struggling with their mental health to seek support, directing people toward the Jac Lewis Foundation, a charity focused on wellbeing in west Wales.
In a statement, Brynamman RFC expressed their devastation at the loss of their vice-captain.
“It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our first team vice captain, Harri,” the club said. “A true warrior, immensely talented, and fiercely dedicated. Harri gave everything to the game, to his teammates and to this club.
“Having had the chance to spend time at a higher level, he returned home to Brynamman RFC, where his heart truly belonged. His loss leaves a hole that will never truly be filled, felt deeply across our club and community.
“We love you, Harri. Until we meet again. Rest easy.”
The club added that players and supporters would come together to honour his memory in the coming weeks.
Morgan also shared details of a fundraising effort launched by Harri’s friends and family, who plan to run the Swansea Half Marathon in his memory. The initiative is raising funds for the Jac Lewis Foundation, with more than £22,500 donated at the time of writing.
