New B&Q store opens at Parc Pensarn, Carmarthen

Mayor joins celebrations as DIY giant unveils upgraded features

DIY RETAILER B&Q has officially opened the doors to its brand-new Carmarthen store at Parc Pensarn.

The relocated 26,872 sq ft B&Q Carmarthen – Pensarn branch welcomed its first customers at 9am on Friday (Feb 27), marking a significant investment in the town’s retail offering.

The new store introduces a range of upgraded features, including the Lick paint collection, an in-store timber cutting service, B&Q’s popular Valspar paint mixing station and an expanded selection of workwear and footwear. Shoppers can browse more than 10,000 products in store, with Click + Collect available in as little as 15 minutes on selected items. A further 22,500 products are available for next-day Click + Collect.

Opening day celebrations

Colleagues marked the occasion with a celebratory launch event featuring live music from the Gershwin Gang, giveaways for early customers including free plants and gift cards, and a special appearance from the Dulux dog.

The ribbon was officially cut by the Mayor of Carmarthen, Cllr Heledd ap Gwynfor, who attended to welcome the new store to the town.

Store Manager Will Francis said: “We’re happy to have opened our new Carmarthen store today and be continuing to deliver our extensive range of home improvement products and services to the Carmarthen community, giving customers more choice and convenience.

“My team and I can’t wait to welcome the local community into our new store and help them with their DIY projects.”

Opening hours

Opening day hours on Friday, February 27 were 9am to 8pm. Ongoing opening times are Monday to Saturday, 8am to 8pm, and Sunday, 10am to 4pm.

The new store is located at Parc Pensarn, Carmarthen, SA31 2NF.
