Moody Meadows event at play barn and trampoline park brings in over £120 for lifesaving charity
A FUN-FILLED Easter pyjama party held at a Pembrokeshire play barn and trampoline park has raised money for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Moody Meadows hosted the charity event at Moody Calf Play Barn on Easter Sunday, after a team member’s brother needed the help of the lifesaving service following a serious road traffic collision.
The charity’s mascot, Biggles, made a special guest appearance and was warmly welcomed by children of all ages, who enjoyed the facilities on site alongside a range of Easter-themed activities and treats.
The popular fundraiser raised over £120 for the all-Wales emergency service.
Explaining why the charity was chosen, Moody Meadows General Manager Rhiannon Matthews said: “We chose the Wales Air Ambulance charity to raise money for because one of our team members recently experienced firsthand the amazing work the Charity does after her brother was airlifted to the hospital following a serious road traffic collision.

“It’s something that everyone hopes they will never need, but we’re glad it exists when they do.
“We’re mindful that the cost of living is really affecting people, so we felt that a pyjama day with an Easter clue hunt and a suggested donation of £1 would offer good value to our customers.
“The children were great at finding the clues and deciphering the Easter anagram, and we exchanged their completed puzzles for little chocolate eggs, which we donated.”
The team played a key role in making the day a success, with team leader Cerys taking on the role of Biggles the Bear for the event.
Rhiannon added: “Cerys showed the team how it’s done! She donned Biggles the Bear and walked around the play barn and trampoline park with a Wales Air Ambulance bucket, collecting extra loose change and interacting with the children.”
Wales Air Ambulance is a consultant-led service, delivering hospital-standard emergency care to patients and transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital when needed.
Its work is delivered through a unique partnership between the third sector and public sector, with the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) providing highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who operate aboard the charity’s vehicles.
This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and carry out minor operations at the scene.
As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews travel across the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care wherever it is needed.
This was the first time Moody Meadows has raised funds for Wales Air Ambulance, but the team said they would be happy to support the charity again in future.
Emily Bell, Wales Air Ambulance’s Regional Fundraising Coordinator, said: “Thank you so much to everyone at Moody Meadows for a wonderful Easter fundraiser. Wales Air Ambulance’s mascot Biggles also enjoyed the pyjama party and activities.
“We’re extremely grateful to everyone who took part or organised the event, you’ve raised an amazing amount for our lifesaving Charity.
“It is heartwarming to hear that after a member of the team’s relative needed the help of the service Moody Meadows wanted to raise funds for us.
“Wales Air Ambulance needs to raise £13 million every year to keep our helicopters flying and our rapid response vehicles on the road. Fundraisers, like this one, will help us continue to be there for the people of Wales when they need us most. Diolch yn Fawr!”
