Award-winning musical project makes its debut in south Wales at a special event for The Salvation Army in Llanelli

AN AWARD-winning and innovative musical project is to make its first ever appearance in South Wales at an event hosted by The Salvation Army in Llanelli this weekend.

The Music Man Project UK is a fully accessible music service where adults and children with learning disabilities learn songs and how to play instruments. It will be part of The Salvation Army’s Enabled event on Saturday, September 6 at the church in Sunninghill Terrace, SA15 3DQ.

Jo-Anne Graham, Disability Engagement Advisor at The Salvation Army, shared her excitement about the upcoming Enabled event.

She said: “The Music Man Project is a joyful expression of what our Enabled community stands for, empowering disabled people through connection and celebration. It opens opportunities to discover musical talents, build friendships, and take part in truly unforgettable experiences.

“The Music Man Project has performed on world-renowned stages, including the Royal Albert Hall. We’re thrilled to welcome them for their very first performance in Wales.”

Captain Karen Symonds runs The Salvation Army in Llanelli.

She said: “We are so pleased to be able to host this Enabled event and are excited to welcome the Music Man Project to share in times of music, fun and fellowship with them.

“There will also be crafts and activities on offer as well as an opportunity to share food together at a free buffet lunch. We are sure it’s going to be a day full of smiles, chatter and lots of fun.”

The Enabled event will run from 10:30am to 3:30pm. It’s open to adults and children with a disability, along with their carers and friends, whether or not they’re connected to The Salvation Army. No musical experience is needed. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, relax in a safe and welcoming environment, and simply have fun.
