Man charged following attempted robbery at Llanelli convenience store

Masked man armed with a knife fled empty-handed after confronting shopkeeper on Tyisha Road

A MAN has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery at a convenience store in Llanelli, police have confirmed.

Officers were called at around 7pm on Sunday, January 18, following reports that a masked man armed with a knife had entered Premier Stores on Tyisha Road and demanded money from the shopkeeper.

Police said the shopkeeper was not injured during the incident and that the suspect left the store without taking any goods or cash.

Following enquiries, Przemyslaw Zielinski, 37, was arrested on Tuesday, January 20, in connection with the incident.

He has since been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Zielinski appeared in court earlier today and has been remanded in custody. He is due to make his next court appearance at Swansea Crown Court on Friday, February 20.

Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
