AB Campers has expanded across South West Wales, launched a try-before-you-buy hire service and is offering a special pop-top roof package throughout July
WHAT began as a shared campervan project between a father and son has grown into an award-winning West Wales business employing more than a dozen people and serving customers across the UK.
AB Campers was founded by experienced automotive engineer Adam Bush, who had worked with vehicles since the age of 16.
After building a campervan alongside his son, Adam recognised an opportunity to combine his decades of technical experience with his passion for vehicles, craftsmanship and outdoor adventure.
Today, the family-focused company is owned and directed by long-time friends Adam Bush and Mat Williams. Adam’s son remains an important part of the workshop team, helping to deliver the conversions and specialist installations for which the company has become known.
From its headquarters near Carmarthen, AB Campers provides complete campervan conversions, part conversions, repairs, upgrades, upholstery, electrical work and specialist installations.
The company also manufactures many of its own products, including bespoke campervan furniture and rock ’n’ roll beds, giving it control over almost every stage of a conversion.
Adam said: “Winning this award is an incredible achievement for the whole team.
“It’s recognition of the passion, craftsmanship and dedication that goes into every campervan we build.
“We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but even more excited about what’s ahead as we continue to grow and help more people experience the freedom of campervan life.”
Award success drives expansion

AB Campers was named Campervan Conversion Company of the Year 2025/26 at the Wales Prestige Awards and also received the Business Choice Award at the Business Growth Awards West Wales 2026.
The recognition has helped generate a significant rise in customer enquiries and demand for the company’s services.
AB Campers has now expanded into three premises across South West Wales and opened a dedicated forecourt offering fully converted, adventure-ready campervans for immediate purchase.
The business has also experienced increased demand for the products it manufactures and supplies to both private customers and other campervan conversion businesses throughout the UK.
Its team of more than a dozen people includes directors, office and marketing staff, engineers and experienced technicians.
The workshop, showroom and forecourt are open from Monday to Saturday, between 9.00am and 5.30pm, allowing customers to view available vehicles, explore conversion options and discuss their plans with the team.

AB Campers also operates through installation centres covering Cheshire, South Wales, Kent, Hampshire, Northamptonshire and Devon.
Everything under one roof
The company says one of its biggest differences is the amount of work it carries out in-house.
Its team designs, CNC-machines, manufactures, stocks, builds and installs the majority of the products used in its conversions, rather than relying heavily on outside suppliers.
This means customers can approach AB Campers for anything from fitting a single window or upgrading upholstery to installing a pop-top roof or commissioning a complete bespoke campervan.
By keeping the work under one roof, the business says it can maintain tighter quality control, reduce lead times and ensure each project meets the customer’s individual requirements.
AB Campers also holds what it says is the largest stock of rock ’n’ roll beds in Wales, with products available for immediate dispatch.
Whether the customer arrives with an empty van, a partly completed project or an existing campervan in need of repairs or improvements, the company can provide support at every stage.

Try campervan life with Doris
Following its recent expansion, AB Campers has introduced a hire service for people who want to experience campervan life before buying a vehicle or commissioning a conversion.
Its four-berth Ford Transit Custom, named Doris, is available from £90 per night, with a minimum stay of two nights.
The vehicle includes air conditioning and heating, a pop-top roof with a scenic canvas, front swivel seats, a fridge-freezer, gas hob and running water.
It also comes with cruise control, automatic headlights and wipers, and parking sensors.
Insurance, a mileage allowance and breakdown cover are included, while children and pets are welcome. Additional charges apply for pets.
The hire service can be used for anything from a weekend break to a longer family road trip.
It also allows potential campervan owners to test which features, layouts and equipment suit their needs before committing to a major purchase.
Customers who later commission a full conversion from AB Campers can receive up to 100 per cent of their hire costs back against the price of the conversion.
Mat Williams, director of AB Campers, said: “Our campervan hire service gives people the chance to experience the lifestyle before committing to buying their own van.
“Whether it’s a weekend escape or a family road trip, it’s the perfect introduction to van life.
“If customers decide to commission a conversion afterwards, we’ll deduct up to 100 per cent of their hire costs from their order.”

Raise the Roof offer
AB Campers is currently running a limited-time pop-top roof promotion for bookings made before July 31, 2026.
The supplied and fitted Raise the Roof package includes a scenic canvas upgrade and a carpeted pop-top bed board.
Prices are:
Short-wheelbase vans: £2,999 including VAT
Long-wheelbase vans: £3,249 including VAT
The offer is available across all van makes and models.
Customers must secure their booking with a deposit before July 31, but the installation can be arranged for any available date during the remainder of 2026.
A standard pop-top roof installation is normally completed within two days and comes with a comprehensive five-year warranty.
Adding a pop-top can provide valuable standing room inside a campervan and create an additional sleeping space, making it particularly useful for families or anyone hoping to maximise the available space in their vehicle.
