League 3 West A: Neyland leave it late to beat St Davids

The winning moment for Neyland

NEYLAND earned a 7-3 victory over St Davids on Saturday (Dec 3) as they earned their fourth win of the season.

The game between the two sides last season had been abandoned with St Davids leading and it looked as if they were heading for victory following Adam Phillips’ penalty.

However, Neyland kept pushing and got their try late on which George Evans converted to give the Pembrokeshire All Blacks victory.

Elsewhere, league leaders St Clears saw off Aberaeron, beating them 21-16 in a close game.

Lampeter Town sit just behind them in second place after their 33-13 win away at Laugharne. Meirion Lloyd, Ifan John Davies (x2) and Gethin Davies scored the tries while the rest of the points came from Osian Jones.

The win keeps up their 100% so far this season and on Saturday, December 10, they face local rivals Aberaeron.

Haverfordwest closed the gap to third placed Aberaeron after they beat Llanybydder 40-7 to earn their fourth win of the season.

Cardigan also earned victory on Saturday, beating Llangwm 67-0 at Pill Parks.

The game between Pembroke Dock Quins and Tregaron was postponed as Tregaron were unable to field a team.
