Paul Sartori Foundation celebrates successful 43rd Annual General Meeting

THE PAUL SARTORI Foundation proudly held its 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, September 24, at Pembrokeshire College, celebrating another year of providing vital hospice-at-home services to people living with life-limiting illnesses in Pembrokeshire. The charity extends heartfelt thanks to all attendees for their continued support and dedication.

This year’s AGM carried the theme of progress and stability, reflecting the Foundation’s ongoing growth and unwavering commitment to the community. Updates were shared by Laura Hugman, Clinical Team Manager, who highlighted the continued development of the Foundation’s Clinical Services, and Dylan Harries, Trustee, who provided a clear and comprehensive report on the charity’s finances. Their contributions reinforced the charity’s vision of providing compassionate, sustainable care to those who need it most.

Outgoing Chair Dave Evans was warmly thanked for his exceptional leadership. During his time as Chair, Dave has been a strong advocate for ensuring that the Foundation’s services remain free at the point of service for anyone in Pembrokeshire facing a life-limiting illness. His dedication has helped strengthen the charity’s message that financial circumstances should never be a barrier to care.

The AGM also marked a period of change for the Board of Trustees. Janet Bevans, who joined the Board in December 2021, was recognised for her many contributions. Janet, with a distinguished career in Human Resources and Business Consultancy, brought extensive expertise and a deep-rooted connection to Pembrokeshire, helping the Foundation achieve its strategic aims.

Paul Lister, a Trustee since January 2015 and Chair from 2019 to 2023, was also thanked for his years of service. With a background as an architect, Paul’s knowledge and vision played a key role in shaping the Foundation’s property development and strategy, leaving a lasting legacy.

Looking to the future, the Foundation is delighted to welcome a new Trustee, Dr. Martin Mackintosh, who brings over 30 years of experience in General Practice and healthcare leadership. In addition, Caroline Bovey joined the Trustee Committee in July 2025 as a Trustee-Elect, beginning a six-month trial in line with the Foundation’s recruitment policy.

It was also announced that Phil Thompson will become the new Chair, ensuring continuity and progress as the Foundation moves forward.
