Accountancy firm expands into Wales with Harris Bassett move

Swansea, Pembroke and Llanelli offices join growing UK group

AN ACCOUNTANCY firm has expanded its footprint into Wales with the addition of Harris Bassett Accountants in a move described as a major step in strengthening locally led services.

BK Plus has welcomed Harris Bassett into its growing network, marking its first move into Wales and taking the group to more than 40 offices across the UK.

Harris Bassett is a well-established practice serving businesses across South and West Wales, with offices in Swansea, Pembroke and Llanelli. The firm is known for its practical advice, strong client relationships and in-depth understanding of the local business community.

The team supports a wide range of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, offering services across audit, tax and business advisory.

The expansion comes almost five years to the day since BK Plus was founded in 2021. Since its launch, the group has focused on building a business rooted in local communities, led by people with strong ties to the areas and businesses they serve.

Nick Bassett, Managing Partner at Harris Bassett, said protecting what clients value most was central to the decision.

“What mattered to us was protecting what our clients value most – local knowledge, continuity and relationships,” he said.

“Joining BK Plus gives us the backing of a wider group while allowing us to continue delivering advice in the way our clients expect. The focus on local teams and local decision-making made this a very natural fit.”

BK Plus has grown steadily by bringing together established firms with a similar approach to client service, combining local delivery with access to broader specialist support when required.

Shaun Knight, CEO of BK Plus, said the move marked the beginning of further investment in Wales.

“Harris Bassett has a strong reputation locally and has a team that understands the businesses they work with,” he said.

“This is the first step in a wider programme of investment in people, offices and specialist support across Wales as we continue to build our presence.

“Our model is simple – local people delivering local services to local businesses, supported by national expertise when it matters.”

The Harris Bassett team will continue operating as before, with the same staff and day-to-day contacts. Clients will now also have access to wider specialist support across the BK Plus group, while retaining the local service they are accustomed to.
