Housebuilder seeks local causes to support in Swansea

HOUSEBUILDER Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales is inviting community groups and registered charitable organisations in Swansea to apply for its Community Fund.

Through this initiative, the housebuilder offers charitable donations to support children, young people and those facing challenges in the communities close to its developments.

With more than £2.5m* donated through the fund since 2022, Barratt is committed to giving back to the communities it builds in — and is on the lookout for new causes to support in 2025.

Richard Lawson, Sales Director at Barratt David Wilson Homes South Wales, said: “The Community Fund is a chance for us to help improve the quality of life for those living in the areas local to our developments.

“Each month we have the opportunity to fundraise and donate to registered organisations that do incredible work — and we want to make sure that they know we are here to support them.

“I urge any registered charity or community groups within the Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Torfaen, Monmouthshire or Swansea areas to get in touch — we’d love to hear more about your story and how we can support the legacy you are creating.”

Barratt has supported a range of causes in South Wales over the last year — including Blood Bikes Wales, which supports the transportation of blood samples and plasma for the NHS; Cardiff and Newport Sands, the UK’s leading stillbirth and neonatal loss charity; military charity, Rugby for Heroes and Two Rhythms, an arts therapy charity based in Cardiff.

* This is the total number of donations made through the programme across all Barratt divisions and includes the Christmas donations (now Winter Fund).
