Kevin Sinfield CBE pens letter to supporters as 7 in 7 Challenge approaches

WITH JUST over two weeks to go until he heads to the start line for the first leg of his sixth 7 in 7 Challenge, Kevin Sinfield CBE has written a heartfelt letter to the people of Swansea encouraging them to get behind him and the MND community.

On December 3, Kevin and his team will run in Swansea on the third leg of 7 in 7: Together, a challenge which will see the rugby league legend run seven ultra marathons in seven regions of the UK and Ireland in just seven days.

Once again, Kevin will be raising money on behalf of six MND charities in memory of his friend and former teammate Rob Burrow CBE who died from motor neurone disease in 2024 aged 41.

In his letter Kevin said: “This year we need your help more than ever.

“Each year this challenge gets harder and people with MND just don’t have time to wait. In the 300 days since we ended last year’s challenge, 1,800 people will have been diagnosed with MND.

“As it stands, each of them will have been told there is no treatment, there is no cure.

“All of us have a huge part to play in writing how the story ends and together we can all play our part in one big team – united behind our shared vision of world free from MND.

“Whether you’re part of a school community, sports club, community group, business or organisation we want to inspire you to get involved in fundraising to support the MND community.”

He’s encouraging people to cheer the team on as they pass through the region, or perhaps even get involved by donating or creating their own challenge.

He said: “Together, we’ll keep banging the drum, keep raising hope and keeping going – for Rob and for the entire MND community.”
