SAM ROWLANDS, Member of the Welsh Parliament for North Wales, has added his voice to his party’s pledge to Fix Wales.
Mr Rowlands, Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Policy Director recently attended the Welsh Conservatives Policy Forum at the Imperial Hotel, Llandudno.
At the event Darren Millar MS, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Senedd, announced an exciting flurry of new policies that will Fix Wales by focusing on Welsh people’s priorities and treating taxpayers’ money with respect.
The policies included creating a new Welsh Winter Fuel Allowance; cutting Ministerial pay by 10% and freezing it for four years; freezing Welsh Government employee salaries of over £100,000 for four years; and ending unnecessary work from home practices for Welsh Government staff to improve collaboration, accountability, and access to support.
Mr Rowlands said: “Following a quarter of a century of Welsh Government spending on vanity projects such as introducing the ridiculous 20mph default speed limit I think it is imperative we see an end to wasteful projects.
“I have said many times that the Welsh Government does not listen to what the people of Wales want but blithely carry on imposing their pet projects upon us all.
“I was pleased to be able to speak to members of the forum and listen to the feedback on how to Fix Wales.”
