AN OUTLINE planning application for four new detached houses has been submitted to Bridgend County Borough Council.
The plans were handed in by First Rate Products Ltd and could see the creation of the new residential properties on land to the rear of Salisbury Road in Maesteg.
The proposed development site is situated around 300m southwest of Maesteg town centre off Salisbury Road where there are two existing houses between 34 and 35 Salisbury Road.
Plans show that four detached properties could eventually be built at the site featuring three first-floor bedrooms with a fourth en suite attic bedroom.
If given the go-ahead by the local planning authority the houses would be accessed via a short road named Bryn Rhedin with the residential homes created on land that is currently unused.
A part of the application read: “The land lies within the designated settlement boundary for Maesteg in the local plan and was at one time mainly clear of vegetation having been an allotment plot in the past.
“The plot has since become covered by areas of scrub and grassland despite an access road and drainage having been installed.”
