Case sent to Crown Court following magistrates’ hearing

Defendant remanded in custody ahead of further proceedings

A DEFENDANT has been sent to the Crown Court for trial following a magistrates’ court appearance.

Peter Lawson, aged 38, of Swansea Road, Llanelli, appeared before magistrates on Wednesday, January 8th.

The court heard that Lawson is accused in connection with serious offences which are indictable only and must be dealt with at the Crown Court. Magistrates therefore declined jurisdiction.

No plea was entered at this stage. Magistrates ordered that Lawson be remanded in custody pending his next court appearance.

The case has now been sent to the Crown Court, where further proceedings will take place at a later date.

No reporting restrictions were imposed.
