SEVERAL streets in Aberdare will be closed over the next few months for gas mains replacement works.
Cross Street, Wind Street and Elizabeth Street will see temporary road closures between June and September.
The closures are needed to allow gas mains replacement.
Cross Street will close from June 1 to June 28 and again from August 31 to September 13 from its junction with Albert Street to its junction with Cardiff Street.
An alternative route is available via Cardiff Street, Tinney’s Corner roundabout, Cardiff Road and Wind Street.
Two-way traffic will temporarily be allowed in Wind Street, from its junction with David Price Street.
Wind Street will close from June 29 to July 12 from its junction with Elizabeth Street to its junction with Cross Street.
An alternative route is available via Elizabeth Street, Griffith Street, Monk Street, High Street, Seymour Street, Gloucester Street, Duke Street, Cardiff Street and Cross Street.
And Elizabeth Street will close from July 13 to August 30 from its junction with Jenkin Street to its junction with Wind Street.
An alternative route from the northern side of the closure is available via Wind Street, Cross Street, Cardiff Street, Victoria Square, Monk Street and Jenkin Street.
From the southern side of the closure an alternative is available via Jenkin Street, Monk Street and Wind Street.
Two-way traffic will temporarily be allowed in Griffith Street, from its junction with Elizabeth Street to its junction with Ynysllwyd Street.
Access will be maintained for pedestrians and to premises but it will not be maintained for emergency services.
