Cardiff school in running for Disneyland Paris performance

Lansdowne Primary named among UK’s best in Frozen sing-along competition

A primary school in Cardiff could soon be heading to Disneyland Paris after being named a regional finalist in a major nationwide singing competition.

Lansdowne Primary School has been selected as one of just 12 finalists across the UK in a campaign celebrating the launch of the new World of Frozen attraction.

The initiative, delivered by AttractionTickets.com in partnership with Twinkl, saw more than 10,000 schools take part. Pupils were tasked with performing the much-loved song ‘Let It Go’ from Disney’s Frozen.

Judges were said to be impressed by Lansdowne Primary School’s entry, praising the pupils’ teamwork, creativity and enthusiasm. The school will now go on to represent Wales in the next stage of the competition.

Their performance is currently being assessed by a panel including world-renowned mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins, alongside representatives from Disneyland Paris and the campaign’s organisers.

The overall winners will receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform live at Disneyland Paris as part of celebrations marking the opening of World of Frozen – the park’s largest expansion to date. Each participating child will also be able to bring up to three family members to share in the experience.

Angelica Costantini, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Disney Destinations International, said the quality of entries had been “exceptional”.

She added: “From schools like Lansdowne Primary School to all twelve finalists, it’s incredibly special to see young voices come together in celebration of music and storytelling as we mark the opening of World of Frozen at Disneyland Paris.”

Chris Bradshaw, Marketing Director at AttractionTickets.com, said the Cardiff school had delivered a standout performance.
“Lansdowne Primary School really impressed us, and their performance was full of energy, joy and confidence,” he said. “It’s been fantastic to see so many schools bringing pupils together through music in such a positive and uplifting way.”
The national winner is expected to be announced by the end of April, following the final round of judging.
