PROTESTERS gathered in Craven Arms on Saturday (May 2) to show solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Just over twenty people took part in the demonstration, positioning themselves around the town’s main roundabout with banners calling for an end to the suffering of civilians.
The protest was organised by Radnor Palestine Links, which said campaigners were also drawing attention to what they described as illegal attacks on an aid flotilla attempting to bring supplies to Gaza.
Organisers said the group stood against all acts of terror, including recent violence in Golders Green, but warned against attempts to link peaceful pro-Palestinian protest with unrelated violent incidents.

Local protester Angie Zelter said: “This is an attack on our democracy. It is wrong to try to control what can and cannot be said.
“The UK support for the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and the illegal war in Iran is a terrible indictment of our country and is not being done in our name.”
Denise Kerwood said she attended “to remind everyone that the Palestinians are still being killed every day”, adding: “There is no real ceasefire.”
Another protester, named only as Rolly, said: “The atrocities are still happening in Gaza. There is no justice. It is time the British state stopped being complicit.”
Michael Callaghan said he could not ignore the contrast between life in Britain and the conditions faced by families in Gaza.
He said many people had lost relatives, suffered serious injuries, or were living in tents and temporary accommodation “among rats and rubbish, with little or no sanitation, privacy or healthcare.”
Guy Darrer said he was demonstrating in support of those involved in the Gaza Aid Flotilla, claiming they had been “illegally abducted in international waters just off Greece.”
He added: “They were just doing what the international community should be doing, getting food and medicines into the starving Gazans.”
