Sandy Bear launches first ever Ladies Day to support bereaved children

Fizz, food and live music event to raise vital funds for growing support service

SANDY BEAR CHILDREN`S Bereavement Charity is set to host its first ever Ladies Day this spring, bringing together fizz, afternoon tea and live music — all in aid of children and young people coping with the death of someone close.

The event, which will take place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, will be held in the Black Diamond Room at Hook Sports & Social Club.

Tickets went on sale this week, with organisers confirming that every penny raised will go directly towards the charity’s bereavement support services. Sandy Bear now supports thousands of children, young people and families each year across Pembrokeshire and wider Wales.

Rising demand for support

The charity says referrals have continued to rise year on year, reflecting an increasing need for specialist bereavement support. Like many organisations, Sandy Bear has also faced financial pressures, making fundraising events such as Ladies Day crucial to ensuring services remain available for families when they need them most.

Guests attending the event will be welcomed with prosecco on arrival, followed by afternoon tea prepared by The Bearded Chefs. Entertainment will be provided by Preseli Pete & the Bluestone Boys, alongside a raffle featuring a range of prizes.

Organisers say the focus is firmly on enjoying a fantastic afternoon in great company, while knowing that the funds raised will make a meaningful and lasting difference.

Ensuring no child grieves alone

Money raised will help the charity continue to provide early, specialist support — helping children process grief before it becomes overwhelming. Sandy Bear’s work aims to ensure that no child has to grieve alone, offering timely intervention that can help young people cope, thrive and move forward.

Tickets are priced at £35 per person, with tables of eight available. Capacity is limited to 120 guests and early booking is encouraged.
