OVER THE NEXT couple of months, Small World Theatre and spacetocreate will be presenting the culmination of Llais yr Afon – a two-year creative project delivered with partners Save the Teifi and West Wales Rivers Trust, and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
Join the Llais yr Afon team as they unveil an exquisite new contemporary map inspired by the famous Idris Mathias map, and showcasing hundreds of contributions from residents of the Lower Teifi Valley. The new map is designed by spacetocreate in collaboration with Heidi Baker.
Llais yr Afon began around the time national media reported that Welsh Water had been illegally discharging untreated sewage into the River Teifi for years. In response, Welsh Water announced plans to upgrade the local treatment plant.

Ann Shrosbree, Director of Small World Theatre said: “It was during this period that we linked with spacetocreate, Save the Teifi, and the West Wales Rivers Trust to launch a project that would give the community a voice.
“Thanks to Piers Partridge and other residents of St Dogmaels and Aberteifi, we understood the distress and concern for the Teifi and needed to support local action groups.”
You’re invited to visit the touring exhibition, which opened on October 25 at Cilgerran Village Hall, and will be followed by Llechryd Village Hall on October 29 and Small World Theatre on November 14.
