Entries open for next generation of farmers
MASSEY FERGUSON has announced it will sponsor the Young Farming Hero category at the 2026 Young British Farming Awards 2026, with entries now open for the next generation of farmers across the UK.
The award, organised by Farmers Guardian, celebrates young people making a significant contribution to farming and rural industries.
Lindsay Haddon, Advertising and Sales Promotion Manager for Massey Ferguson in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East, said the category reflects the enthusiasm and dedication seen within the agricultural sector.
“We have a young team at Massey Ferguson and the enthusiasm and drive they bring to their work is infectious,” she said.
“Having the opportunity to encourage and promote new entrants into the industry and celebrate the achievements of those already forming the next generation shows that farming and its associated industries have a bright future.”
She added that the Young Farming Hero category attracts a diverse range of applicants.
“It’s exciting to see the entrants to the Young Farming Hero award as this covers a wide range of potential applications. Massey Ferguson is delighted to be part of the awards.”
Now in its third year, the Young British Farming Awards continue to grow in popularity. This year the number of categories has increased from eight to 12, recognising a broader range of achievements within the agricultural community.
The awards have also received backing from prominent young farmers, including Tom Pemberton and Kaleb Cooper, with Cooper creating his own award category to encourage young people to get involved.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony at Cannon Hall Farm on September 19, 2026.
Nominations and entries for the awards are now open.
