Annual Illuminated Charity Tractor and 4×4 Run to light up community for charity

A POPULAR annual illuminated charity tractor and 4×4 run will once again light up the streets in aid of good causes.

The community event, which is organised by Pontfaen Young Farmers Club, will take place on Tuesday, December 23, and will raise funds for their two chosen charities Wales Air Ambulance and The Brain Tumour Charity.

As well as those charities, the young farmers will also donate £500 each to the paediatric wards at Merthyr Hospital, Hereford Hospital, Glangwili Hospital and Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital.

In addition, a portion of the funds raised will go back towards supporting Pontfaen Young Farmers Club.

Every year the tractor run brings festive cheer and community spirit to Brecon while raising funds for vital charities.

There will be a prize for best dressed vehicle! This is a perfect opportunity to get creative, shine bright, and help make this year’s event another unforgettable evening.

The vehicles will leave Brecon Livestock Market at approximately 4:15pm and finish at Brecon High School at approximately 6:45pm, where supporters will have an opportunity to enjoy listening to Brecon Town Band and have a chance to visit Santa’s grotto.

There will be mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies available and a grand raffle will also take place.

Wales Air Ambulance is delighted to be one of the charities to benefit from their annual tractor run, which has raised more than £25,000 for worthy causes during the past four years.

The Wales Air Ambulance is consultant-led, taking hospital-standard treatments to the patient and if required, transferring them directly to the most appropriate hospital for their illness or injury.

It is delivered via a unique third sector and public sector partnership. The Wales Air Ambulance Charity relies on public donations to raise the £13 million required every year to keep the helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

The Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service (EMRTS) supplies highly skilled NHS consultants and critical care practitioners who work on board the Charity’s vehicles.

This advanced critical care includes the ability to administer anaesthesia, deliver blood transfusions and conduct minor operations, all at the scene of an incident.

As a pan-Wales service, its dedicated crews, regardless of where they are based, will travel the length and breadth of the country to deliver emergency lifesaving care.
