The Plaid Cymru leader will be making a speech at the public event entitled “Let’s talk about Wales” and taking questions about Plaid Cymru’s policies and vision at Ystradgynlais Rugby Club on November 10 at 7pm. The public will also be able to hear from the top four candidates selected for Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd, who will be hoping to represent the new constituency following next May’s election, which includes Neath and the East of Swansea, the Swansea Valley and south Powys.
The four candidates are:
- Sioned Williams, Plaid Cymru’s current MS for South Wales West
- Rebeca Phillips, NPT County Borough Councillor for Trebanos
- Andrew Jenkins, Neath based community activist
- Justin Horrell, Councillor for Abercraf on Ystradgynlais Town Council
Plaid Cymru Leader Rhun ap Iorwerth MS said: “I’m really looking forward to hearing from local people at the event in Ystradgynlais about the change they want to see after next May’s Senedd election, and to share with them Plaid Cymru’s exciting vision for a fairer, more ambitious Wales.
“We want to have an open conversation with the people of Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd about how a Plaid Cymru government can deliver for them and for the whole of Wales.

“Real change can only happen if we build it together. So if you want to play your part in driving that change for your community, come along to Ystradgynlais and start a conversation with Plaid Cymru and your excellent team of candidates.“
Sioned Williams MS said: “It’s great to welcome Rhun as a part of his tour of Wales to launch Plaid Cymru’s campaign in Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd.
“More and more people are turning to Plaid Cymru’s hopeful vision and real change can only happen if we build it together. Wales needs new leadership with fresh ideas to take us forward.
“That is what Plaid Cymru offers the communities of Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd.
“The meeting in Ystradgynlais will be an opportunity for people of this area to discuss the vision Plaid has face to face with the leader of the party and their team of Senedd candidates.
“We are all committed to listen and to ensure we fight for fairness for the people of Brycheiniog Tawe Nedd.“
