Visit Wales launches new ‘Chill Cymru’ wellbeing series

Guided meditative podcasts and films showcase Wales’ landscapes through sound and storytelling

VISIT Wales is set to launch a new wellbeing-focused digital series this Sunday (January 25) aimed at bringing the sights and sounds of Wales to audiences around the world.

The initiative, titled Chill Cymru, consists of a collection of guided meditative podcasts and short films designed to immerse listeners in some of the country’s most scenic locations through sound, storytelling and the Welsh language.

Narrated by BBC Radio 1 presenter Sian Eleri, host of the BBC’s Chillest Show, the series seeks to tap into a growing interest in mindfulness, slow travel and wellbeing. Rather than relying solely on visuals, Chill Cymru encourages audiences to experience Wales through atmospheric soundscapes and reflective narration.

The six meditative journeys featured in the series explore a range of locations across Wales, including Three Cliffs Bay on the Gower Peninsula, the lavender fields at Cefnperfedd Uchaf in mid Wales, Pen y Pass and the peaks of Eryri, wellness retreat Wern-y-Cwm Farm beneath Ysgyryd Fawr, Cardiff Bay, and Cwmcarn Forest in south east Wales.

Visit Wales says the project forms part of its wider Hwyl campaign, reflecting a broader shift in tourism marketing towards emotional connection and place-based storytelling.

Chill Cymru will be available from January 25 on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.
