POLICE HAVE ARRESTED A 34-YEAR-OLD MAN AFTER FATAL INCIDENT IN TREVETHIN
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 74-year-old man in Torfaen.
Gwent Police said officers were called to a property in Bythway Road, Trevethin, at around 4:55pm on Thursday (Apr 23), following reports that a man had suffered serious injuries.
The victim, named by police as Nicholas “Brian” Parfitt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 34-year-old man from Cwmbran has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Mr Parfitt’s family paid tribute to him, describing him as a “well-loved dad and grandad”.
They said his death had come as a shock.
Police have not released any further details at this stage.
